This short ceremonial or wedding korowai was originally made for a war veteran to wear to a ceremony, but it would be equally good as a wedding korowai. Perfect to give a Maori look to a garment without the korowai covering most of it.
This korowai, or kahu huruhuru to be exact, is made by a Maori lady of Ngati Porou descent. It has a knitted taniko top, with bleached white chicken feathers below. You can choose different coloured feathers here.
The taniko has a patiki design, which spiritually means abundance, prosperity, and care of others.
